Heavy Metals impacting your health and detoxification

‍Heavy metals are present everywhere in our modern environment – air, soil, food, water and household and cosmetic products.  Heavy metals are elements that can be toxic and very dangerous to your health, even in low concentrations.

Once lodged in our body, they are difficult to eliminate.

Symptoms and chronic diseases related to heavy metal toxicity is considered to be a problem that millions of people experience. Therefore, including a heavy mental detox into your health and wellbeing program can be considered essential.

Heavy metal toxicity can contribute to a wide range of health issues, including

  • neurological conditions (dementia, Parkinson's)

  • cognitive function and changes, brain fog

  • cancers

  • chronic inflammation

  • hormonal imbalances (reproductive issues, thyroid disfunction)

  • anaemia

  • sleep disorders

  • low energy

  • immune system suppression

  • cardiovascular disease (hypertension, atherosclerosis, and heart disease)

  • mood disturbances

  • multiple sclerosis

  • fibromyalgia

Many heavy metal toxicity symptoms mimic those related to aging with many people blaming getting older on the cause of their emerging symptoms, not realising heavy metal exposure is a major contributing factor.

Exposure to Heavy Metals

As mentioned, exposure can occur through various methods, however cosmetics is often an overlooked contributor.  Testing undertaken by Environmental Defence of 49 make up items (foundations, concealers, powders, blushes, mascaras, eyelines, lipsticks and glosses), revealed serious heavy metal contamination in virtually all products:

  • 96% contained lead

  • 90% contained beryllium

  • 61% contained thallium

  • 51% contained cadmium

  • 20% contained arsenic

Upon exposure to heavy metals, they first enter your bloodstream, then travel through your body and penetrate the cells of various tissues and organs, where they can remain stored for years.

‍ ‍Mercury

Mercury exposure can be from certain fish (or fish oil supplements), fluorescent light bulbs, teeth fillings, food grown in contaminated soil and cosmetics.

The list of symptoms of mercury toxicity alone, includes virtually all illnesses known to humankind.

Mercury can deposit in different areas in different people.  It can deposit in the hypothalamus (causing hormone problems); the limbic system (depression); the adrenals (fatigue); the long bones (osteoporosis, leukemia); the autonomic and sensory ganglia (chronic pain syndromes); connective tissue (lupus); in the cranial nerves (tinnitus, cataracts, TMJ problems, loss of smell); or in the muscles (fibromyalgia).

Aluminium

Aluminium exposure can come from foil, cookware and storage, water, baking powder, antacids and antiperspirants. Furthermore, if you are deficient in magnesium, your body will absorb excess aluminium.

Aluminium toxicity usually creates neurological conditions; Parkinsons, dementia, and cognitive decline.  It has also been linked to kidney and liver problems, and behavioural problems such as ADD, ADHD and autism in older children.

Furthermore, there can be a combined link between many heavy metals.  High mercury, leads to low zinc which drives copper levels.  One imbalance can lead to many issues within the body.

What you can do

  • Work with a holistic dentist to safely remove amalgam fillings

  • Drink good quality water. (For more information on water, see previous blog here: Why you should drink more water (rosewoodhealing.com.au)

  • Use aluminium free deodorants

  • If taking antacids, consider alternatives

  • Ensure you eating or supplementing sufficient magnesium for you

  • Reevaluate use of skincare and beauty products

  • Consume coriander, black sesame seeds and chlorella

You should note, that while you work on overcoming heavy metal toxicity, some symptoms may get worse before they get better.  Potential symptoms include fatigue, loss of appetite and digestive issues.

‍ ‍Heavy Metals and Kinesiology

If you suspect that you have symptoms from heavy metal toxicities, kinesiology muscle testing can help you to determine if this is the case. Testing for 44 potential heavy metals, kinesiology can identify which of the metals are causing you the most stress.  Kinesiology also looks at the associated emotions involved.  It assists in the elimination and detoxification of the toxins from your body.

‍To complete a complete kinesiology heavy metals detoxification course of action requires two sessions.  The two sessions complete other balances required prior to the heavy metals including TMJ, Hydration and Meridians.  This allows the body to start healing itself and strengthening the elimination organs (particularly kidneys and bladder) to safely remove heavy metals.

To make a Kinesiology appointment, go to “Book Now” button, direct message, or phone 0404 286 763.
