Why you should drink more water
Drinking the right amount of water and being hydrated can help with a broad range of health conditions and help you feel your best!
Being sufficiently hydrated can help with:
• Dyspeptic pain (gastritis, duodenitis and heartburn)
• Rheumatoid arthritis pain
• Lower back pain
• Migraine and headaches
• Depression
• High Blood Pressure
• High Blood Cholesterol
• Excess body weight
• Type 2 Diabetes
• Brain fog and poor memory
With just an increase of water intake, Dr F. Batmanghelidj cured over 3,000 people with dyspeptic pain! You can read about this and many other success stories, along with the supporting evidence in his book “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”.
You are about 75 per cent water and you NEED water for nearly all your body functions (such as, to carry nutrients into cells and toxins out).
It is recommended that you drink 2 litres of water per day. You can work out the specific recommended water intake for you personally by: 33ml for each kg of body weight. For example a 70kg person would drink 2.31L of water per day.
Drinking good-quality filtered and re-mineralised water is best for your health. Filters are fantastic for removing undesirable substances, but also remove the good stuff too (including electrolytes, which are needed to facilitate water absorption). Re-mineralised water is filtered water with the beneficial minerals added back in. If you are unable to obtain re-mineralised water, there are many products on the market to add to your water, such as Himalayan Salt or liquid Sea Mineral.
The best time to drink water is upon rising, half an hour before food and two and a half hours after each meal.
It’s important to note that coffee, tea (or any caffeine-containing beverages) and alcohol, do not count as water.
Many people do not enjoy drinking water, or simply forget to drink it. Here are some strategies to overcome this:
• Take a glass of water to bed ready to drink when you wake up
• Have a bottle of water with you throughout the day
• Set an alarm or reminder to drink
• Flavour your water with cucumber, strawberries, mint, lemon or lime
In addition to drinking water Kinesiology is able to help with your Hydration/Dehydration levels. During every session we test hydration levels. Hydration techniques in kinesiology sessions are powerful because hydration isn’t just about the amount we drink. It is also about the way we are absorbing it, utilising it and eliminating it. Kinesiology can help you with your hydration, so that you are at your absolute best.
To make a Kinesiology appointment you may do so through the website, direct message or phone.
