The Temporomandibular Joint is commonly known as TMJ. If you’ve had jaw issues, you’ve most likely heard of it. The TMJ is also one of the most used joints in the human body.  It connects the jaw to the skull, and functions to help open and close the mouth.  Good TMJ function is essential for our basic, but essential actions of eating and talking.

The TMJ system consists of bones, ligaments, muscles, nerves and the bilateral joint and disk.

The TMJ has an enormous influence over the body as a whole, including the body’s skeletal, muscular, nervous and meridian systems.

A TMJ imbalance can look like:

  • Inability to fully open or close mouth

  • Jaw pain

  • Abnormal sensations with jaw movement and clicking

  • Grinding or clenching teeth (including in sleep)

  • Deviation when opening or closing the jaw and misalignment of teeth

  • Jaw joints tender to touch

  • Referred pain to face, neck, head, eyes, ears, spine, shoulder, hips, knees, ankles and feet

  • Tight shoulders

  • Migraines and headaches

  • Blurred vision or eye pain

  • Dizziness

  • Ear pain or pressure and tinnitus

  • Digestive disorders

  • Bladder problems (and bed wetting)

  • Uterine prolapse

  • Hiatal hernia

  • Allergies

Possible causes of TMJ Imbalance can be caused by; stress, car accident, a knock to the head or jaw, whiplash, trauma or dental work (including work completed when you were much younger).

Kinergetics RESET TMJ is a simple non-invasive technique that relaxes (or energises) the jaw muscles, enabling the critical Temporomandibular Joint to reset. It is a simple way to balance the structure, energy and neurology of the muscles around the head and jaw.

RESET uses natural healing energy which brings about a deep relaxation in the jaw muscles.

The RESET method has been found to be effective for rapidly relieving the above mentioned symptoms, along with addition of:

  • More stability in hip, knee and foot muscles

  • A more balanced acupuncture meridian system

  • Less tension in muscles

  • Less sinus problems

  • Improved digestion and assimilation of food

  • More balanced glands and hormones

  • Improved toxin elimination through the kidneys

  • Improved assimilation and utilisation of water

  • Improved learning ability

  • Reduction in insomnia

  • Reduction in lower back pain

  • Reduction in growing pains

A RESET TMJ balance is usually completed over two 45 minute sessions, ideally a week apart.
