How are you feeling coming into winter?

How do you feel about the health of your Immune System?

Are you concerned about coming down with a nasty and debilitating cold or flu?

If you have young children, or grand kids, you are very often exposed to colds and other germs, by kids who like to bring them home from school and day care. After all, sharing is caring!

No one wants to be unwell. Being stuck in bed, feeling awful and missing out on catching up with family and friends is not something we want to experience.

But we are able to support our immunity and avoid becoming unwell. We can also bounce back quicker after being sick. One way to do this is by stimulating our thymus.

Your thymus is located behind your sternum, above your heart, and is critically important for your immune system. The thymus produces hormones to keep the immune system working properly. It also makes T cells, which are dispersed around the body to fight infection, disease and foreign bodies.

The thymus actually decreases in size as you age!

There is a practice that you can do at home to stimulate your thymus, being the “thymus thump”. I recently did a video of this on social media. It is a simple practice that anyone can do!

How to Thymus Thump? Channel your inner Tarzan!

  •  Take a couple of relaxing breaths

  •  Using your finger tips or fist, tap on your sternum, above your heart on the location of your thymus.

  •  Do this for 15 -20 seconds, taking regular slow breaths.

Tap daily. Or up to four times a day during times of illness. Persevere with this practice, to feel the benefits.

As an added bonus, some people report that they know it is activated as they feel a little tingling and a subtle feeling of joy!

By tapping your thymus area, the vibrations cause your thymus to increase the release of white blood cells, moving them into the bloodstream to do their work.

So when you need a boost of energy and immunity, all you have to do is thump your thymus!

Additionally, to support your immune system, you may benefit from a kinesiology session. Kinesiology can help with balancing your energies around your immune system: be that your thymus, hydration, nutritional vitamins and minerals, even your emotions! Your body will indicate the priorities it needs.

If you would like to work on your immune system and look after your well-being, book a kinesiology session today by direct messaging, telephone, or making a booking through this website.
